Seven Scriptures of Love

Before anything else, know this

The God of heaven loves you — personally, particularly, without condition. These are His own words.

One John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Two Acts 17:26
“And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth.”
Three Mark 12:31
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Four Galatians 3:28
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Five John 13:34
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another.”
Six 1 John 4:7
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”
Seven 1 Peter 3:15
“…always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

The Nature of God

01Nature of God

“The Trinity is Polytheism”

Christians worship three gods, violating the absolute oneness of God (tawhid).

The Question

Christians worship three gods (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), which violates the absolute oneness of God.

Islamic Source
“O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion… Say not ‘Three’; desist — it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God.”Qur’an 4:171 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

Christians worship one God who eternally exists in three Persons — this is not three gods, but one divine Being. The Trinity affirms absolute monotheism while acknowledging God’s self-revelation as Father, Son, and Spirit. We share with our Muslim friends a deep commitment to one God.

Scripture
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.”Deuteronomy 6:4 (ESV)
02Nature of God

“God Cannot Have a Son”

It is blasphemous to say God has a son; Allah neither begets nor is begotten.

The Question

It is blasphemous to say God has a son; Allah neither begets nor is begotten.

Islamic Source
“Say, ‘He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.’”Qur’an 112:1–4 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

“Son of God” in Christian theology does not mean physical procreation — Christians equally reject that notion. It describes the eternal relationship of love within the Godhead and the unique nature of Jesus as the Word of God made flesh. God’s “begetting” is eternal, not biological.

Scripture
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”John 1:14 (ESV)
03Nature of God

“Trinity Isn’t in the Bible”

The word “Trinity” never appears in the Bible; it was invented at Nicaea (325 AD).

The Question

The word “Trinity” never appears in the Bible; it was invented at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

Islamic Source
“They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is the third of three.’”Qur’an 5:73 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

While the word “Trinity” is a theological term (coined by Tertullian c. 200 AD — well before Nicaea), the doctrine is taught throughout Scripture: in Jesus’ baptism, the Great Commission, and the apostolic benedictions. Councils did not invent the Trinity; they defended what the apostles already taught.

Scripture
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”Matthew 28:19 (ESV)
04Nature of God

“Jesus Prayed — So He Isn’t God”

If Jesus were God, he wouldn’t pray to God. His prayers prove he is a creature.

The Question

If Jesus were God, he would not pray to God — his prayers prove he is a creature, not the Creator.

Islamic Source
“The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger… His mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food.”Qur’an 5:75 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

Jesus has two natures — fully divine and fully human. In his humanity he prayed, submitted, and depended on the Father, modeling for us what true human life looks like. His prayers reveal the relational love within God, not that he is less than God.

Scripture
“Who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”Philippians 2:6–7 (ESV)
05Nature of God

“God Is Too Great to Become Human”

It is unbefitting for God to become man, eat, sleep, and die.

The Question

Allah is utterly transcendent; it is unbefitting for God to become man, eat, sleep, and die.

Islamic Source
“Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted.”Qur’an 6:103 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

God’s transcendence is not diminished by the incarnation — it is magnified by His love. The Creator chose to enter His creation to redeem it, not because He was forced, but because He loves His image-bearers. The incarnation is the greatest demonstration of God’s mercy.

Scripture
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”John 3:16 (ESV)
06Nature of God

“The Holy Spirit Is Gabriel”

The “Holy Spirit” in the Bible is the angel Gabriel, not a divine Person.

The Question

The “Holy Spirit” in the Bible is the angel Gabriel, not a divine Person.

Islamic Source
“Say, ‘Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel — it is [none but] he who has brought the Qur’an down upon your heart.’” (Gabriel is identified with the Ruh al-Qudus in tafsir.)Qur’an 2:97 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

The Holy Spirit in Scripture is identified as God Himself, not a created angel. Lying to the Spirit is called lying to God; the Spirit searches the depths of God, which only God can do. Angels serve God — they are never equated with Him.

Scripture
“Peter said, ‘Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit…? You have not lied to man but to God.’”Acts 5:3–4 (ESV)
07Nature of God

“The Trinity Is Father, Mary, and Jesus”

The Qur’an says Christians take Mary as a deity beside Allah.

The Question

The Qur’an teaches that the Christian Trinity is Father, Mary, and Jesus.

Islamic Source
“And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, ‘O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, “Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?”’”Qur’an 5:116 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

Christians have never worshiped Mary as God or part of the Trinity. While some traditions honor Mary as the mother of Jesus, orthodox Christianity has always taught that Mary was a blessed but fully human woman. The Trinity is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — never Mary.

Scripture
“And Mary said, ‘My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.’”Luke 1:46–47 (ESV)
08Nature of God

“God’s Oneness Means Absolute Singularity”

Any plurality in God is shirk — associating partners with the One.

The Question

True monotheism (tawhid) means God is a singular, indivisible unity — any plurality in God is shirk.

Islamic Source
“Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.”Qur’an 4:48 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

Biblical monotheism affirms one God, but the Hebrew echad (“one”) in the Shema can denote compound unity — as when husband and wife become “one flesh.” The Trinity is not three gods added together, but the eternal, relational fullness of the one God who is love.

Scripture
“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”1 John 4:8 (ESV)

The Identity of Jesus

09Jesus’ Identity

“Jesus Never Said ‘I Am God’”

Jesus never explicitly said “I am God, worship me” in the Bible.

The Question

Jesus never explicitly said “I am God, worship me” in the Bible.

Islamic Source
From Ahmed Deedat, Christ in Islam; cited alongside Qur’an 5:116–117.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Jesus repeatedly claimed divine identity in ways his Jewish audience immediately understood — calling himself “I AM” (the divine name of Exodus 3:14), forgiving sins, accepting worship, and claiming oneness with the Father. His listeners tried to stone him for blasphemy precisely because they understood his claims to deity.

Scripture
“Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.’”John 8:58 (ESV)
10Jesus’ Identity

“Jesus Was Not Crucified”

Allah raised him; someone else was made to appear like him on the cross.

The Question

Jesus was not crucified; Allah raised him to heaven, and someone else was made to appear like him.

Islamic Source
“And [for] their saying, ‘Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus…’ And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them… Rather, Allah raised him to Himself.”Qur’an 4:157–158 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

The crucifixion of Jesus is one of the most historically attested events in antiquity, confirmed by Christian, Jewish (Josephus, Talmud), and Roman (Tacitus) sources. More importantly, without the cross there is no atonement for sin, no resurrection, and no salvation. The cross is not defeat — it is the victory of God’s love.

Scripture
“Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (ESV)
11Jesus’ Identity

“Jesus Is Only a Prophet”

Isa was a great prophet and messenger, but nothing more.

The Question

Jesus (Isa) was a great prophet and messenger of Allah, but nothing more.

Islamic Source
“The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him.”Qur’an 5:75 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

Jesus is indeed a prophet — but far more. The prophets pointed to God; Jesus is God come in the flesh. He forgave sins, accepted worship, and claimed authority no mere prophet would claim. As C.S. Lewis observed, given his claims, Jesus is either Lord, liar, or lunatic — not merely a good prophet.

Scripture
“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son… He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.”Hebrews 1:1–3 (ESV)
12Jesus’ Identity

“‘Son of God’ Was Added Later”

Early Christians didn’t believe Jesus was divine; Paul or Constantine invented it.

The Question

Early Christians did not believe Jesus was divine; this was a later invention by Paul or Constantine.

Islamic Source
“The Jews say, ‘Ezra is the son of Allah’; and the Christians say, ‘The Messiah is the son of Allah.’”Qur’an 9:30 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

The earliest Christian writings — including pre-Pauline creeds dated within 5 years of the crucifixion (1 Corinthians 15:3–7, Philippians 2:6–11) — already affirm Jesus’ divinity and resurrection. This was not a later development; it was the conviction of the apostles who walked with Jesus.

Scripture
“So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”Philippians 2:10–11 (ESV)
13Jesus’ Identity

“The Father Is Greater Than Jesus”

Jesus himself admitted the Father is greater (John 14:28).

The Question

Jesus himself admitted the Father is greater, proving Jesus is not equal to God.

Islamic Source
Cited in Ahmed Deedat, Is the Bible God’s Word?, using John 14:28.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Jesus spoke this during his earthly ministry when he had voluntarily taken on human limitations (Philippians 2:6–8). In his humanity, the Father was positionally greater; in his divine essence, Jesus and the Father are one. This is a statement about role, not nature.

Scripture
“I and the Father are one.”John 10:30 (ESV)
14Jesus’ Identity

“Jesus Didn’t Know the Hour”

Only the Father knows the hour — proof Jesus isn’t omniscient.

The Question

Jesus said only the Father knows the hour of judgment, proving Jesus is not omniscient and therefore not God.

Islamic Source
Mark 13:32, cited in Deedat and Zakir Naik debates.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

In the incarnation, the eternal Son voluntarily limited the exercise of some divine attributes, learning and growing as a true human being. This self-limitation (kenosis) does not mean he ceased to be God — it means God humbled himself to share our human experience fully.

Scripture
“Though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant.”Philippians 2:6–7 (ESV)
15Jesus’ Identity

“Jesus Will Return as a Muslim”

At his return, Jesus will break the cross, kill the swine, and confirm Islam.

The Question

Jesus will return in the last days, break the cross, kill the pig, and abolish the jizya, confirming Islam.

Islamic Source
“The son of Mary will soon descend among you as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the pig, and abolish the jizya.”Sahih al-Bukhari 3448
In Response, With Love

Scripture consistently portrays Jesus’ return as the triumphant return of the Lord who was crucified and raised — the same Jesus, with the same message. He will return not to retract his gospel but to fulfill it. Every knee will bow to the crucified and risen Christ.

Scripture
“This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”Acts 1:11 (ESV)
16Jesus’ Identity

“Jesus Is Called God’s Servant”

Servants are not God. Both the Bible and Qur’an call Jesus a servant.

The Question

The Bible and Qur’an both call Jesus God’s servant; servants are not God.

Islamic Source
“[Jesus] said, ‘Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.’”Qur’an 19:30 (Sahih International); Acts 3:13 also cited
In Response, With Love

Jesus is indeed God’s servant — the prophetic Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53. But the same Isaiah also calls this Servant “Mighty God” (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus’ servanthood is how God chose to redeem us; it does not deny his deity — it reveals his love.

Scripture
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”Isaiah 9:6 (ESV)

The Integrity of the Bible

17Bible Integrity

“The Bible Has Been Corrupted (Tahrif)”

The original Gospel (Injil) has been lost or corrupted; only the Qur’an is preserved.

The Question

The original Gospel given to Jesus has been lost or corrupted; only the Qur’an is preserved.

Islamic Source
“So woe to those who write the ‘scripture’ with their own hands, then say, ‘This is from Allah.’”Qur’an 2:79 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

The Qur’an itself affirms the Torah and Gospel available in Muhammad’s day (5:47; 5:68; 10:94). If those were corrupt, Muhammad was told to consult corrupt books. Further, we possess over 5,800 Greek New Testament manuscripts, some within 100 years of the originals — a textual record unmatched in antiquity.

Scripture
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”Isaiah 40:8 (ESV)

“The Four Gospels Contradict Each Other”

Differences in the Gospels prove they are unreliable.

The Question

The four Gospels contradict each other on key details (resurrection accounts, genealogies), proving they are unreliable.

Islamic Source
Ahmed Deedat, Is the Bible God’s Word?; Zakir Naik lectures.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Differences in the Gospels are what we would expect from independent eyewitness accounts — they complement rather than contradict. Courts consider varied testimony from multiple witnesses more credible than identical statements. The core facts — Jesus’ death, burial, empty tomb, and appearances — are unanimously affirmed.

Scripture
“It seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you… that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.”Luke 1:3–4 (ESV)
19Bible Integrity

“Paul Corrupted Jesus’ Message”

Paul invented Christianity, replacing Jesus’ pure monotheism.

The Question

Paul invented Christianity; the real message of Jesus was pure monotheism, which Paul replaced with the Trinity and atonement.

Islamic Source
Common in Deedat material; echoed by Rashid Rida and modern polemicists.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Paul’s teachings align with the earliest pre-Pauline creeds, the other apostles, and Jesus’ own words. Peter endorsed Paul’s letters as Scripture (2 Peter 3:15–16). Paul did not invent the gospel — he preached what he received from Jesus himself and confirmed with the Jerusalem apostles.

Scripture
“For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.”Galatians 1:11–12 (ESV)
20Bible Integrity

“The Bible Has Immoral Stories”

It records prophets sinning; that can’t be from God.

The Question

The Bible contains sinful stories about prophets (Lot’s incest, David’s adultery, Solomon’s idolatry), which cannot be from God.

Islamic Source
Qur’an 2:102 defends Solomon; Islamic tradition holds prophets are ma’sum (sinless).Islamic theological tradition
In Response, With Love

The Bible’s honesty about human failure — even of its heroes — testifies to its authenticity. Scripture does not whitewash history; it records it truthfully so we see our need for a perfect Savior. Only Jesus lived sinlessly; all other figures point to our need for grace.

Scripture
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23 (ESV)

“No Original Manuscripts Exist”

We don’t have the originals, so we can’t trust the text.

The Question

We don’t have the original manuscripts of the Bible, so we can’t trust the text.

Islamic Source
Zakir Naik, various public debates.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

No ancient document has its originals — including the Qur’an (the earliest manuscripts, like the Sana’a palimpsest, show textual variants). Yet the New Testament has vastly more manuscript evidence than any ancient work, with 99%+ textual certainty. The abundance of manuscripts is a strength, not a weakness.

Scripture
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”Matthew 24:35 (ESV)
22Bible Integrity

“The Gospel of Barnabas Is the True Gospel”

It predicts Muhammad by name and was suppressed by the church.

The Question

The Gospel of Barnabas predicts Muhammad by name and is the authentic Gospel suppressed by the church.

Islamic Source
Widely promoted by Rashid Rida, Ahmed Deedat; Muslim publications since the 1908 Italian translation.Modern Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Scholars across traditions (Christian, Muslim, and secular) agree the Gospel of Barnabas is a medieval forgery (c. 14th–16th century), containing anachronisms like references to medieval European currency and citations of Dante’s Inferno. No ancient manuscript exists; the earliest copy is Italian, c. 1590.

Scripture
“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.”Galatians 1:8 (ESV)
23Bible Integrity

“Deuteronomy 18:18 Prophesies Muhammad”

“A prophet like Moses” refers to Muhammad, not Jesus.

The Question

“A prophet like Moses” refers to Muhammad, not Jesus.

Islamic Source
Qur’an 7:157 alludes to a prophet “they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel”; Deedat, What the Bible Says About Muhammad.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Deuteronomy 18:18 says the prophet will be “from among their brothers” — meaning Israelite, not Ishmaelite. The New Testament (Acts 3:22–23) explicitly identifies this prophet as Jesus, who like Moses led a new exodus, mediated a covenant, and spoke God’s words directly.

Scripture
“Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.’”Acts 3:22 (ESV)

“The Comforter Is Muhammad”

The Greek periklytos was changed to parakletos to hide Muhammad’s name.

The Question

The Comforter Jesus promised (John 14:16) is Muhammad; the Greek periklytos (“praised one”) was altered to parakletos (“comforter”).

Islamic Source
“And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, ‘O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you… bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.’”Qur’an 61:6 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

Every Greek manuscript of John reads parakletos (Helper/Advocate) — there is no textual evidence for periklytos. Jesus explicitly identifies the Paraclete as the Holy Spirit who would dwell in believers (John 14:17), come at Pentecost (Acts 2), and glorify Jesus — not a future human prophet.

Scripture
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”John 14:26 (ESV)
25Muhammad in Scripture

“Song of Solomon 5:16 Names Muhammad”

The Hebrew machamaddim is Muhammad’s name.

The Question

The Hebrew word machamaddim (“altogether lovely”) in Song of Solomon 5:16 is a reference to Muhammad.

Islamic Source
Popularized by Ahmed Deedat, What the Bible Says About Muhammad.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Machamaddim is a plural Hebrew noun meaning “desires” or “lovelinesses” — a poetic intensifier, not a proper name. Applying this grammatical technique consistently, other Hebrew words (like “delights” in Lamentations) would also name Muhammad, which is clearly absurd. The context is a love poem, not prophecy.

Scripture
“His mouth is most sweet, and he is altogether desirable. This is my beloved and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.”Song of Solomon 5:16 (ESV)
26Muhammad in Scripture

“Isaiah 29:12 Predicts Muhammad”

“The book delivered to one who cannot read” is Muhammad’s illiteracy.

The Question

“The book is delivered to one who cannot read” prophesies Muhammad’s reception of the Qur’an while illiterate.

Islamic Source
Cited in Deedat and IslamQA apologetics.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Reading Isaiah 29:11–12 in context shows God rebuking Israel for spiritual blindness — both the literate and illiterate fail to understand God’s word. It is a judgment oracle, not a messianic prophecy. Isaiah’s prophet of hope is the Servant of chapters 42, 49, 53 — identified by the New Testament as Jesus.

Scripture
“And the Lord said: ‘Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me…’”Isaiah 29:13 (ESV)

“Paran = Mecca”

“Shone forth from Mount Paran” refers to Muhammad in Mecca.

The Question

“He shone forth from Mount Paran” refers to Muhammad receiving revelation in Mecca.

Islamic Source
Cited in Deedat and Zakir Naik materials.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Paran is clearly located in the Sinai Peninsula, not Arabia (Genesis 21:21; Numbers 10:12; 13:3). The passage describes God’s past appearance to Israel at Sinai, not a future prophet in Mecca. The geography doesn’t match; Mecca is hundreds of miles south of Paran.

Scripture
“The LORD came from Sinai and dawned from Seir upon us; he shone forth from Mount Paran; he came from the ten thousands of holy ones, with flaming fire at his right hand.”Deuteronomy 33:2 (ESV)

The Question

Jesus said he was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel; the universal prophet would come later (Muhammad).

Islamic Source
Matthew 15:24 cited alongside Qur’an 61:6.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Jesus’ earthly ministry was focused on Israel first, but he commanded his disciples to take the gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:19). His Great Commission is universal. The “prophet to come” Jesus pointed to was the Holy Spirit, who came at Pentecost and still draws all peoples to Christ.

Scripture
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)

“Habakkuk 3:3 = Muhammad”

“God came from Teman, the Holy One from Paran” is Muhammad from Arabia.

The Question

“God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran” refers to Muhammad from Arabia.

Islamic Source
Common in Zakir Naik’s “Similarities Between Islam and Christianity” lectures.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

Habakkuk 3 is a poetic recounting of the Exodus — God’s appearance to Israel at Sinai. The “Holy One” is God himself, not a human prophet. Teman is in Edom; Paran is in Sinai. The passage describes God’s saving acts for Israel, not a future Arabian prophet.

Scripture
“God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His splendor covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.”Habakkuk 3:3 (ESV)

“‘The Prophet’ in John 1 Is Muhammad”

The Question

The Jews asked John the Baptist if he was the Christ, Elijah, or “the Prophet” — “the Prophet” is Muhammad.

Islamic Source
Cited in Deedat, Muhammad the Natural Successor to Christ.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

“The Prophet” refers to the one promised in Deuteronomy 18:18. The New Testament explicitly identifies this Prophet as Jesus (Acts 3:22; John 6:14). There is no third future prophet awaited beyond Jesus; the pattern of Old Testament expectation finds its fulfillment in Christ alone.

“No One Bears Another’s Sin”

It is unjust for Jesus to die for others’ sins.

The Question

It is unjust for Jesus to die for others’ sins; each person bears their own burden.

Islamic Source
“No bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.”Qur’an 17:15 (also 35:18; 39:7)
In Response, With Love

Jesus did not have sin imposed on him unwillingly — he freely offered himself out of love. This is not injustice but the highest expression of love: the innocent willingly taking the place of the guilty. Substitutionary sacrifice requires a willing substitute, which Jesus was.

Scripture
“No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.”John 10:18 (ESV)
32Salvation

“Original Sin Is Unjust”

Humans are born pure (fitra); inheriting Adam’s sin is unjust.

The Question

Humans are born pure (fitra); it is unjust to inherit Adam’s sin.

Islamic Source
“Every child is born on al-fitra (the natural state).”Sahih al-Bukhari 1358; Qur’an 30:30
In Response, With Love

Christians do not teach that individuals are guilty of Adam’s personal act, but that all humanity inherits a fallen nature that inevitably produces sin. Evidence: every human who has ever lived — including children — eventually sins. We don’t need to teach children to be selfish; it comes naturally.

Scripture
“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.”Romans 5:12 (ESV)
33Salvation

“Salvation Is By Scales of Deeds”

Those whose good deeds outweigh their bad are saved.

The Question

On Judgment Day, good deeds will be weighed against bad; those with more good are saved.

Islamic Source
“Those whose scales are heavy — it is they who are the successful. But those whose scales are light… they are the losers.”Qur’an 23:102–103 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

If we must outweigh our sins with good deeds, who can be sure they’ve done enough? God is infinitely holy; even one sin is a debt we cannot repay. This is why we need a Savior — Jesus paid our debt fully, offering us the assurance of salvation as a gift, not a wage.

Scripture
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”Ephesians 2:8–9 (ESV)
34Salvation

“God Can Forgive Without a Cross”

Allah is all-merciful; he can forgive without blood atonement.

The Question

Allah is all-merciful; he can simply forgive sins without needing a cross or blood atonement.

Islamic Source
“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves… do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.’”Qur’an 39:53 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

God is both merciful and just. A judge who simply waves away crimes is not truly just. The cross is where God’s justice and mercy meet — sin is fully punished (justice) and sinners are fully forgiven (mercy). Forgiveness without atonement would compromise God’s holiness.

Scripture
“It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”Romans 3:26 (ESV)

“‘Faith Alone’ Means Anything Goes”

Christians claim “faith alone” saves and then live however they want — this promotes immorality.

True saving faith always produces good works — not as the cause of salvation, but as its evidence. A tree is known by its fruit; those truly transformed by Christ live transformed lives. “Faith without works is dead,” as the apostle James clearly taught.

“God Can’t Die — So Jesus Can’t Save”

The Question

If Jesus is God, God cannot die — so the crucifixion either didn’t happen or Jesus wasn’t God.

Islamic Source
A common argument in Zakir Naik’s debates with Christian apologists.Muslim apologetic tradition
In Response, With Love

In the incarnation, Jesus united his divine nature with a full human nature. His human nature experienced death; his divine nature did not cease to exist. This is how an infinite sacrifice could be offered — the divine Person experienced human death, giving his sacrifice infinite value for our sins.

It is only fair that paradise be earned by righteous living, not given freely.

Islamic Source
The righteous enter paradise “as a reward for what you used to do.”Qur’an 7:42–43 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

If heaven were earned, we would be owed it — and God would owe us nothing. Scripture says our best works are like filthy rags before a holy God (Isaiah 64:6). Salvation as a gift magnifies God’s grace; salvation as wages makes him a debtor, which he cannot be.

Scripture
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 6:23 (ESV)

The Question

Even in Islam, salvation is uncertain — how can Christians claim absolute assurance?

Islamic Source
“None of you will enter Paradise because of his good deeds… not even me, unless Allah bestows His mercy on me.”Sahih al-Bukhari 6467
In Response, With Love

Christian assurance is not based on our performance but on Christ’s completed work. Since our salvation depends on what Jesus has done, not what we do, believers can have peace and certainty. This assurance produces gratitude and obedience, not complacency.

Scripture
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.”1 John 5:13 (ESV)

“O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants… are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it.”Qur’an 5:90 (Sahih International)
In Response, With Love

The Bible condemns drunkenness repeatedly but not the moderate use of wine — Jesus himself turned water into wine at Cana and instituted the Lord’s Supper with wine. Scripture calls us to self-control and avoiding drunkenness, not total abstinence.

Scripture
“And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.”Ephesians 5:18 (ESV)

The dietary laws were part of the Old Covenant given specifically to Israel. In Acts 10, God explicitly declared all foods clean in a vision to Peter, showing the gospel’s reach beyond Jewish dietary boundaries. Paul did not abolish the Law but showed its fulfillment in Christ. The ceremonial law pointed to Jesus; the moral law remains. The apostles (including James and Peter) endorsed Paul’s teaching at the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15). Paul and Jesus preach the same gospel of God’s kingdom.

Scripture

The Question

Paul’s teachings subordinate women; the Bible is oppressive to women.

Islamic Source

Jesus elevated women radically for his time — teaching them, accepting them as disciples, and appearing first to women after his resurrection. Paul taught that in Christ “there is neither male nor female” — all are equal heirs of salvation. Distinct roles do not imply unequal worth.

Scripture
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”Galatians 3:28 (ESV)

Orthodox Christianity worships God alone, not images. While some traditions use visual aids for teaching and devotion, Scripture clearly forbids worshiping any created thing. A cross may remind us of Christ’s sacrifice, but worship is directed to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit alone.

Scripture
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image… You shall not bow down to them or serve them.”Exodus 20:4–5 (ESV)

Grace doesn’t make sin acceptable — it makes holiness possible. The Christian life involves genuine transformation by the Holy Spirit, producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control. Paul directly addressed this objection: “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means!”

The Question

The Crusades show Christianity’s violent nature; Christians killed millions of Muslims.

Islamic Source

In Response, With Love

The Crusades were historically complex — partly a response to centuries of Islamic conquest of formerly Christian lands, partly motivated by worldly power. But the Crusaders violated Jesus’ clear teaching to love enemies and not take up the sword. Christianity is judged by Christ’s teaching, not by those who disobeyed him.

Scripture
“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.’”Matthew 26:52 (ESV)

The divinity of Jesus was affirmed in Christian writings centuries before Nicaea — by Ignatius (c. 110), Justin Martyr (c. 150), Irenaeus (c. 180), and others. The Council of Nicaea did not invent Christian doctrine; it defended it against Arius’s novel teaching. The canon of Scripture was largely recognized well before Constantine.

The “Dark Ages” label has been largely revised by historians. Christian monasteries preserved classical learning; Christian universities birthed modern science. Figures like Augustine, Aquinas, Kepler, Newton, and Pascal were devout Christians. Christianity and learning are not enemies — biblical theology encouraged the scientific revolution.

Islamic Source

The traditional explanation is that Matthew traces Joseph’s legal line (Jesus’ royal right through his legal father), while Luke traces Mary’s bloodline (Jesus’ actual descent from David). Both affirm Jesus’ Davidic lineage through different purposes. This is complementary, not contradictory.

Differences among eyewitness accounts indicate independence, not fabrication — if the writers had colluded, their accounts would match perfectly. All four Gospels agree on the essentials: Jesus died, was buried, the tomb was empty, and he appeared to his disciples alive. That unanimity is the heart of the gospel.

The Ebionites were a later sect (2nd century) rejected by mainstream Christianity as heretical, not the original Christians. Our deepest prayer is not that you lose your heritage, your family, or your language — but that you meet the living Jesus who loves you. Read the Gospel of John. Ask honest questions. We would love to walk with you.

The story of a love that has always seen you

He sees you.

In the wilderness, a servant named Hagar fled alone and weeping — unseen by the world. The Lord met her there. She called Him El Roi — “the God who sees me.” Whoever you are, wherever you stand, He sees you now.

Genesis 16:13
1

You are deeply loved.

Before you took your first breath, God knew you — and loved you. His love is not earned by ritual or repetition. It is given.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (ESV)
2

But something is broken.

Every human heart, honest before the One Holy God, knows it has fallen short. Not one of us can climb a ladder of our own deeds and reach heaven. This is not a failure of effort — it is the condition of the soul.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 (ESV)
3

The cost is real.

Sin separates. It has weight, and a just God cannot simply wave it away. But God Himself did not leave the weight on us.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (ESV)
4

A gift you cannot earn.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus — the eternal Word of God made flesh — went to a cross not as a victim, but as a willing Lamb. He took upon Himself what we could never carry. Three days later, the tomb was empty.

“But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV)
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8–9 (ESV)
5

A simple turning.

There is no secret formula, no hidden pilgrimage. Christ invites you to turn from your own way, to receive what He freely gives, and to walk with Him as Lord.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 (ESV)
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6 (ESV)

A prayer, if you are ready

Speak it honestly — He hears.

“Lord Jesus, I believe You are who You said You are — the Son of God, who lived, died, and rose again. I know I have fallen short, and I cannot save myself. I turn from my own way and receive Your gift. Come into my heart as Savior and Lord. Teach me to walk with You. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer…

  • Tell Him you trusted Him. Your honest “yes” matters more than the exact words.
  • Read the Gospel of John — begin with chapter 1. Let His words shape yours.
  • Find a believer to walk with you. You were never meant to walk alone.
  • Write to us with anything. We will not argue you toward Christ, but we will be honest with you in love.

May the peace of the Lord — the peace that passes all understanding — be with you.
